Installation

How do I install PTVL?
Simply download and execute the installation program and follow the onscreen prompts.
How do I find my Provider ID?
Just use the Add Provider Wizard and answer the questions along the way. WebLink will do the rest.
The Add Provider Wizard can't find my Provider ID because I live outside the US. Can I use PTVL?
Yes and no. TVGuide.com has started including some international listings (including Canada).
If you live outside the US and can find your listings at

you can use WebLink to get your listings.

Go to the TVGuide.com website and bring up the TV listing for your area. Place your mouse over one of the television shows displayed (but don't click on it). Take a look at the link in the bottom of your browser window. It should besomething like: "javascript: cl('62236','1253400')" The first number (62236) is your Provider ID. If you don't see the link at the bottom of your browser you can view the source for the web page and look for a similiar statement. Thanks to Craig for the information.
I've and downloaded data, what now?
The ListingSync ActiveSync provider should copy the generated Listings.zip file to the same directory on the Pocket PC as PTVL.exe. If for some reason the ListingSync provider isn't working you can copy the Listing.zip file by hand.

Configuration

How do I change the skin?
Use the Appearance page under Listings|Setup. Select the skin you want from the drop down. A preview of the skin you select will be displayed after you select it from the drop down. You can also use a random skin when you start the program by checking the check box on this page.
How do I rearrange channels?
Use the Options page under Listings|Setup. You can either drag and drop the channels to arrange them or select a channel and use the Up and Down buttons to adjust its position.
Can I make PTVL open to a specific time?
Use the Options page under Listings|Setup. Select "Today At" from the Start At drop down. You can then select the specific time you want from the next drop down.
Can I move the date by one day instead of one week?
Use the Options page under Listings|Setup. Checking "Date Arrows by 1 Day" will move by one day and unchecking will move by one week.
Can I move the grid by one hour instead of 1/2 hour?
Use the Options page under Listings|Setup. Checking "Scroll Left and Right by 1 Hour" will move by one hour and unchecking will move by 1/2 hour.
How do I change how far in advance I'm reminded of a show?
Use the Options page under Listings|Setup. Adjust the "Remind Me" time using the Up/Down buttons next to the time.

Usage

How do I move around the grid in PTVL?
Part of this depends on the skin. Each skin can define its own buttons for advancing the grid and scrolling the grid (some skins might not have these buttons at all). No matter what skin is selected you can always use the arrows in the toolbar to move forward and back, and scroll up and down. If your Pocket PC has a joypad it can also be used to navigate the grid.

GuideScraper stopped working! What's wrong?
You shouldn't be using GuideScraper anymore. Use WebLink and PTVL 1.9+ instead.
WebLink stopped working! What's wrong?
It could be a couple of things. First, check and make sure that you can view your listings on the TV Guide website. If the website is down GuideScraper doesn't have anywhere to get information from. Second, the format of the website may have changed. If this is the case you should see a notice on the website soon after it changes. We will be working hard to get WebLink updated to the new format.
I downloaded a bunch of channels but only a few are showing up in PTVL. What's the deal?
That's part of the new tiered licensing scheme. Until you're registered you can only see few channels for up to three days in the future. You can check our registration page to find out more about the various registration options.
