Because of some strange daylight savings time issues, if you are getting
the wrong times, delete the \cache folder from C:\Program Files\Thumbs
Up!\Pocket TV Listings\. This will force WebLink to download all new
listings.

There are new versions of WebLink and PTVL. Just grab do a Check For
Upgrade from WebLink. It should grab an updated version. If not you
can grab it directly from here:

http://ptvl.thumbsupsoft.com/downloads/PTVLInstall_021028.exe

You should have the following version numbers after installing:
WebLink 1.4b
ListingSync 2.2b
PTVL 2.5d

You will need to run WebLink 1.4 and have it update your Listings.dat
file.

The new Listings.dat format used by PTVL 2.5 and WebLink 1.4 is not
compatible with older versions of PTVL. Do not try to mix and match, it
won't work.

Because of some strange daylight savings time issues, if you are getting
the wrong times, delete the \cache folder from C:\Program Files\Thumbs
Up!\Pocket TV Listings\. This will force WebLink to download all new
listings.

If you are still having problems, please check and make sure you have
the appropriate versions loaded, the let me know.

When I went to download listings today, I got a message there is a newer version I should install. I did that and when I downloaded the new listings, I found the same problem as Linda ... they are off by one hour (i.e. a show that's on at 3p is listed as 4p). I checked TVGuide's website and it shows up correct. Any suggestions? Thank you for your help.

Hi, I had a problem with the days not being on track and took Ed's suggestion about waiting 'til today and redownloading web link data. The days' stuff is now correct but an hour behind - this I presume has to be because of Daylight Savings Time. Any ideas on a fix for this (other than changing the date on my handheld)

Thanks for any help,
Linda

Hello,

I had the same problem (0 channels) a couple of weeks ago and downloaded the latest beta which solved the problem. Another problem I had is daylight savings time which shifted all my day of programming (mon showed sun programming, tues showed mon programming, etc.). I solved this my setting my PC date to Monday and downloading new listing data (or just wait until tomorrow to download).

Michael same thing just happened to me as well today at 3:28 PM EST. I suspect that the problem may have to do with the change to standard time. The rollback of the clock by 1 hr may have the guide scraper "confused". I am subscribed to DISH Network on EST (63879).

Hi Michael
I have been using the new version for sometime now and all or a sudden I can't download the files. It may not be the program itself. In fact I am wondering if it isn't the web site itself. I goes Getting chanel list. Found 0 Channels. Warning Lineup change provider Broadcast Listing 10072. It started doing this last night I tried again this morning and again at noon and still can't get anything.

Thank you for your help. It is there, I just never looked since I just
run WebLink from my desktop. I probably should have looked. I
converted 2 skins and am thinking of trying to make my own.
Again, thank you for your help and I greatly appreciate the prompt
reply.

You need to use Skinz It! to convert the skin. Just select Import Old
Skin from the File menu. Select the .skz file for the old skin and it
should be loaded into Skinz It!. Then just do a Save As from the File
menu and save it. It will have a .esz extension which is what the new
version of PTVL reads. Just copy that file from the desktop to the
device (\Program Files\PTVL), and PTVL should see it.

Don't have a clue. I tried moving the "varietion" skin that I had on my desktop (from downloading from your website) to this new version and it won't show up. I have no clue about what to do with the Skinz program itself so I just wanted to move 2 skins that I had downloaded. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks,
Linda

Glad you are enjoying the new version. It was is development for a
*lot* longer than I wanted, but I think the end result was worth it.
This version is FREE to all registered users.

Speaking of skins, I'm working on putting together some sort of tutorial
for using the new Skinz It program. If you come up with anything you'd
like to see in that let me know.

Thanks very much - that exiting out of Web Link thing did the trick.

I noticed that the version is still "registered". Is there no charge for
this new and improved version - only been playing with it a few minutes but
it LOOKS GREAT so far!!!! Pls let me know what the upgrade cost, if any,
is. In any case, thanks a lot in advance.

Linda

P.S. Now onto the skin thing!!!!

Look using Windows Explorer. It should be in C:\Program Files\Thumbs
Up!\Pocket TV Listings\SkinzIt.exe

I haven't found a way to run the new install without getting it
installed...

Hi, I think I was having the same problem as John and just wrote in about it - not being able to get my listings as I do every week. Saw the new Beta version and downloaded it. The listing and PTVL versions are as they should be. However, WebLink still shows version 1.2c and I can't get any listings. I didn't uninstall, just upgraded/reinstalled and hit the "repair" option. I've tried twice and still nothing. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong???

Also what's the price for this new beta version and/or can I get my old one back if it doesn't wind up working?

Thanks,
Linda

Try deleting the cache folder in \Program Files\Thumbs Up!\Pocket TV
Listings and re-run WebLink. If the error continues, please send me the
diag.zip file.

Old version of program was not working today. Worked fine yesterday. Came to site and saw posts about new TV Guide file format. Downloaded and installed new beta. Everything is working fine again.
Used the Skinz It! program to update all the old skins to the new format. That worked great to.
So far no problems.

#1: Reminder suggestion for PTVL Beta
Posted by Tim (Email: on) on October 22, 2002 at 07:34:17 Back to Top
Registered PTVL yesterday (really like it), and installed the beta.

One suggestion for reminders - please put quotes around the title, or maybe something like "PTVL - title". That way it will distinguish it from "other" appointments.
