PTVL version 1.1a released.

Unregistered PTVL will expire on 3/1/2001.

Program Details added as a Note when setting a reminder.

Added the ability to set a reminder from the Program Detail screen.

All showings of a program that have the same details displayed on the Program Details screen.

Categories can be automatically added.

Color coding based on categories.

Category colors can be assigned on the Color tab under the Categories... context menu pick.

On the new tab check the categories you want color coded and press the Edit button to modify the colors.

The order of the categories on this tab determines which one wins (towards the top is better) if a given show has more than one category.

GuideScraper version 1.0f released.

Unregistered PTVL will expire on 2/1/2001.

Minor updates while we try to solve the ListingSync problem that some people are having.

If a skin doesn't have a preview image PTVL will display No Preview.

PTVL will now automatically check \My Documents if a Listings.zip file is not found in the PTVL directory.

Added the ability to configure the Listings.zip output location in GuideScraper.

These last two features make it possible to use the built in Files provider (see FAQ) if you have problems with the ListingSync provider.

Oops! The version of PTVL uploaded was the wrong one. It always displayed an error message when loading data. This have been corrected. If you downloaded the PTVLInstall.exe from CNet late last night or early this morning please re-download. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Uploaded a new PTVLInstall.exe. You can download it from CNet. This program has version 1.0e of GuideScraper and version 1.0b of PTVL.

Unregistered PTVL will expire on 1/1/2001.

Added a couple of new error message to PTVL to indicate various problems that may occur while loading data (e.g., Listings.zip not found, Listings.zip doesn't contain any appropriate Guide*.dat files).

GuideScraper now has an Add Provider Wizard that will walk new users though the process of adding a provider.

GuideScraper now can automatically check this website to see if a newer version is available.

Changed the way the time zone is calculated. If you have problems the older version is still here, but please e-mail us and let us know.

There was an error with the change over with daylight savings time. It still hasn't been fixed but at least now we'll have 6 months to fix it. If you are still having problems, try deleting the cache.zip file in the cache directory and retrying. If you are still having problems e-mail us.

PTVL Version 0.9i Beta released.

GuideScraper Version 0.8a Beta released.

Replaced PTVL's About toolbar button with a Now button.

GuideScraper has many new features

• Only one instance can be started at a time.
• A new command line option (-go) will start downloading immediately.
• An Auto Download option is now available. Every 15 minutes it can check to see if it needs new data and see if it can contact tvguide.com and if so it will begin downloading data. Warning this feature hasn't been extensively tested.
• A tray icon has been added. It will animate when downloading.
• Added the ability to rename and renumber channels. Be careful that you don't create duplicate channel number/channel name combinations. Doing so will cause their data to be intermingled.
• Program and Detail time filters can now cross midnight (e.g., 9pm-2am).

The TV Guide Online website has started including listings for Canada.
If you live in Canada and can find your listings here you can use GuideScraper to get your listings. Thanks to Craig for the information.

PTVL Version 0.9h Beta released.

PTVL is now smarter about extracting data from the Listings.zip file and will overwrite files as needed.

PTVL now extracts files into a cache directory.

Made the GuideScraperUnstable.zip to the only version available and removed the Unstable designation.

Implemented a new file scheme. All data files are stored in a single file 'Listings.zip'. This is a preliminary step to creating the basic ActiveSync provider.

Added the ability to remove a provider from GuideScraper. Use Scraper | Remove Current Provider

Added the ability to automatically categorize programs from GuideScraper.

GuideScraper now processes all defined providers each time Start is hit.

GuideScraper Version 0.2a Beta released.

Both PTVG and GuideScraper can automatically delete old data files.

GuideScraper can automatically assign categories to programs. This only can occur when details are loaded for a particular program.

Added a Smart Download feature to GuideScraper. When this is enabled only data that has not been downloaded before will be downloaded. This does add a somewhat time consuming step at the begining where all the current files are parsed and details copied. It is faster than getting everything from the web though.

GuideScraper's provider entry field is now a combo box that lists previously entered providers. Very useful for people with satelite and local stations.

Fixed a bug when searching categories. "Equals" and "Not Equals" comparisons should now work.

Changed the search separator character to a pipe ('|'). I had to do this because some show names had a comma in them which really confused the All Showings search. Unfortunately this will break previously saved searches.
